The Morgain Firm, LLC was born to fill a need in Louisiana for an experienced and successful plaintiff-oriented appellate firm with the time, energy, and flexible compensation arrangements to work with firms across the state in matters of both appeal and supervisory writs.

Richard Morgain has argued appellate matters of first impression and previously-settled law in either oral argument or briefing before most of the appellate courts of the State of Louisiana, as well as courts in Texas, Florida, Indiana, Mississippi, the United States Court of Appeals for the Fifth Circuit and the United States Supreme Court. One throughline is clear in the appellate system - judges regularly lament that briefing is generally insufficient in appellate cases, both to educate the judges and justices and to make full use of format to argue the case on appeal.  The Morgain Firm is dedicated to bucking that trend.

At the same time, The Morgain Firm maintains a healthy district-court level litigation practice, representing individuals against companies and governmental entities throughout South Louisiana in matters of general and maritime personal injury, insurance and employment disputes, and civil rights.
